Novoslim review

Novoslim is a weight loss formula that helps users to lose excess pounds effectively and safely, with the official site claiming that the product can “give you back your power over food!” This clinically tested, non-stimulant dietary supplement claims to help suppress appetite and reduce a user’s portion size without them feeling like they’re starving. In other words, it works to create a feeling of fullness, which can help a person reduce the amount of food and calories that they eat.

A serving of Novoslim (2 capsules) contains 1500 mg of Propolmannan (Amorphophallus konjac K. Koch, ssp. Amorphophallus japonica) fiber extract (root). More specifically, Novoslim contains glucomannan and is a trademarked glucomannan supplement, containing only konjac root derived from two different types of plants.

Konjac root contains the fiber glucomannan, which is well known in the OTC weight loss market. When ingested with water, the fiber expands in the stomach, which may help provide a person with a feeling of fullness, allowing them to have greater control over their potion sizes.

Unlike many other non-prescription diet pills, Novoslim has actually been clinically researched. According to the official product site, the ingredient in Novoslim has undergone over thirty years of clinical research and many studies. In at least six separate clinical trials its efficacy in assisting adults achieving weight loss has been studied.

In two separate double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trials involving the Novoslim ingredient, participants in the control group dropped an average of 8.37 pounds and 5.5 pounds over eight weeks, respectfully. The weight loss experienced by the control group was statistically significant compared to the placebo group.

While this does sound impressive and the site does provide references to these studies, it is important to keep in mind that a clinically tested and researched ingredient is not the same as one that has been clinically proven. Unfortunately, glucomannan has never been proven to cause weight loss.

Although Novoslim does not contain a stimulant, this does not mean it is without side effects. The most common side effects associated with glucomannan include: gas, stomach discomfort, loose stool and diarrhea. A more serious, but far less common, side effect is it can present a choking hazard in the event that the gel begins to expand in the throat or esophagus. Although rare, there is also a risk that it could cause a blockage in the intestine. It is important when taking Glucomannan that you drink sufficient water to make sure capsules are thoroughly washed down and that the fiber will expand properly in the stomach.

Users are instructed to take 2 capsules, twice per day, with 8 to 16 ounces of water, 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to their heaviest meals (usually lunch and dinner). At the time this review was written a one month supply cost $19.99.

You should speak to your doctor before taking Novoslim and should also inform him or her if you have diabetes, as Glucomannan can interfere with blood sugar control.
